November fishing has been fantastic. The big smallmouth are stacked up and on the feed.
This is not the time to catch numbers of fish, but a big fish period.

The water temp fell fast and the action is great!
Smallmouth are scattered and in non-typical areas, but they
are very active. Great fishing continues.

September is always a great month and this year was no exception.
Although smallmouth are scattered we caught plenty of numbers and
lots of big fish. Most smallmouth were caught on plastics but a few were
caught on red tail chubs with the best action for big fish being mid-day.
In Early August we had good fishing even with the unstable weather.
However, in the last 2 weeks the fishing has been fantastic.
The topwater bite has been awesome!!!
The best topwater bite is at Mid-day.
August is usually the best topwater bite.
With the hot weather, smallmouth have moved quickly into the summer pattern.
Smallmouth are feeding on crayfish and hitting plastics and some topwater.
The big fish bite continues on the Menominee River.
With the stable weather and 69 degree water temps the action should continue.
Fishing remains good and big fish were caught this past week. With the water temp.
around 60 degrees smallmouth are starting to spawn. The best action has been at mid day,
which is typical for this period. Wacky rigged jerkbaits are producing the most fish but a few
big smallmouth were caught with Yo-Zuri suspending jerkbaits and floating minnow baits. Keep
in mind that after spawning the big females don't move far from the spawning areas.
This week should be great!

Smallmouth fishing has been good but erratic, due to the weather.
With the water temp going up & down each day smallmouth are scattered.
The best presentations have been crankbaits and hard jerkbaits. The new
YO-ZURI Edge Minnow has been very hot and we have been using both
the floater and sinker. This bait slices through the water and creates multiple
flashing sides that triggers savage strikes. The Weight Transfer System allows
for longer and more accurate casts even under windy conditions. These
baits are a must on the Menominee River and the best I have ever fished with!!!!
